Embody Living @ Living Divani Gallery

The collaboration between Living Divani and veramonteforte, the tailoring atelier founded by Massimo Monteforte, gives rise to Embody Living, a new interpretation of Extrasoft, Living Divani’s iconic sofa. The project stems from Extrasoft’s removable covers, transforming a technical feature into an expressive opportunity: the sofa is reinterpreted as a body to be dressed, through materials and techniques drawn from the world of tailoring. The upholstery is used inside out to enhance its texture, recalling the tweed and Donegal fabrics of traditional menswear. Basting and stitching bring the value of the handmade gesture to the furniture, not as mere decoration, but as an integral part of the design.
“Embody Living stems from the encounter between two design cultures that share the same attention to quality, material and the value of the gesture,” says Carola Bestetti, CEO of Living Divani.
“Reinterpreting a product such as Extrasoft, which is deeply rooted in Living Divani’s history, through Massimo Monteforte’s tailoring perspective has allowed us to see it in a new light, without compromising its identity.”
Embody Living thus conveys a contemporary vision of Made in Italy, where craftsmanship and industrial expertise come together to explore new languages of living.
